About the position

The Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director position at Robert Half in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a key role responsible for overseeing and managing payroll operations for both hourly and salary employees in the manufacturing industry. The role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in payroll processing, ensuring that all payroll-related tasks are executed correctly and in accordance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and maintaining accurate records of hourly and salary new hires, terminations, direct deposits, tax changes, and various deductions.
  • Managing 401K, H.S.A., transfers, commissions, referral rewards, incentives, defer compensation payout, bonuses, FMLA, LOA, STD, benefits, amendments, out of sequence payrolls, liens, and wage garnishments.
  • Conducting yearly audits of payroll and 401(k) files to ensure compliance.
  • Processing manual checks for terminations and discrepancies as needed.
  • Providing guidance on Federal, State, and local payroll taxes and responding to unemployment requests and tax notices/inquiries.
  • Preparing ADP reports on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis for various purposes like workers compensation, EEO, census, headcount, multiple state worksites etc.
  • Responding to auditing/regulator inquiries related to payroll audit and compliance and providing necessary information/documentation for audit requests.
  • Utilizing skills such as ADP Workforce Now, ADP - Payroll, Special Payroll Deductions, Benefits Payroll, Weekly Payroll, Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Full Cycle Payroll, Local Payroll Tax, Multi-state Payroll, Multistate Payroll, Payroll - Garnishments, Payroll - Over 500 Employees, Payroll Law, Payroll Tax Reporting, Payroll Tax Returns, Payroll Taxes, and Tax - Payroll to perform tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director role within the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and ADP - Payroll.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Special Payroll Deductions and Benefits Payroll.
  • Experience in managing Weekly Payroll.
  • Possession of Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • Experience in Full Cycle Payroll.
  • Knowledge of Local Payroll Tax, Multi-state Payroll, and Multistate Payroll.
  • Familiarity with Payroll - Garnishments.
  • Experience in managing Payroll for over 500 employees.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Payroll Law.
  • Proficiency in Payroll Tax Reporting, Payroll Tax Returns, and Payroll Taxes.
  • Experience in handling Tax - Payroll.
