About the position

Poppins Payroll is seeking a dedicated Payroll Support Specialist who is passionate about numbers and helping people. In this role, you will assist customers with payroll and tax-related inquiries, ensuring they receive the support they need to navigate the complexities of payroll management. You will be responsible for setting up client tax accounts and assisting with quarterly tax filings, making this position integral to our clients' success. As part of a supportive team, you will engage with clients through various communication channels, including email and live phone support, to explain payroll processes, taxes, and our services. Your daily responsibilities will include answering client inquiries, completing online applications to obtain client Federal Employer Identification Numbers (FEINs), and setting up state tax accounts. You will also assist in filing tax reports and communicate with state and federal agencies regarding client accounts. Regular team meetings will be held to discuss client services and company updates, fostering a collaborative work environment. Responsibilities

  • Answer client inquiries via email and live phone.
  • Explain payroll, payroll taxes, our services, and our site to clients and prospective clients.
  • Complete and submit online applications and reports to obtain client FEINs, and set up state tax accounts.
  • Assist in filing tax reports.
  • Meet daily (virtually or in-person) with the team to discuss client services and company updates and improvements.
  • Communicate with state and federal agencies about client accounts.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in payroll (preferred).
  • 2 years of customer service experience (required).
  • 2 years of accounting experience (preferred).
  • Ability to relocate to Boulder, CO 80304 before starting work (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a customer service role within the payroll industry.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and payroll processes.
