About the position

The Payroll Systems Analyst position at Kansas State University serves as the payroll functional lead for the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) payroll system, which encompasses responsibilities for interfacing with the Financial Information System (FIS) and the K-State Student Information System (KSIS). Responsibilities

  • Serve as the payroll functional lead for the HRIS payroll system.
  • Analyze day-to-day and recurring operations to improve business processes.
  • Design and communicate enhancements and fixes for the payroll system.
  • Interface with the Financial Information System (FIS) and the K-State Student Information System (KSIS).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of integration tools and processes as well as relational databases.
  • Excellent logical, analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to conceive of the larger picture in relation to strategic planning.
  • Ability and desire for independent learning.
  • Previous experience with PeopleSoft HRMS 9.2, Workday, Lawson, Ceridian, or other ERP systems.
  • Data mapping experience between systems.
  • Experience developing functional specifications related to business processes or interfaces.
  • Previous experience with HR and payroll system configuration and setup.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products including Excel, Word, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint.
