About the position

We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Systems Taxation Consultant. This role involves auditing payroll setups, improving payroll procedures, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The consultant will conduct detailed audits of payroll configurations within ADP systems, analyze current payroll setups, and propose enhancements for improved compliance and efficiency. Additionally, the consultant will evaluate and revise existing payroll processing standard operating procedures for process streamlining and tax compliance. The consultant will also be responsible for proposing and implementing changes aimed at improving payroll accuracy and efficiency. This includes managing third-party tax processing notifications through ADP Smart Compliance and resolving tax processing issues to prevent future penalties. The consultant will provide expert advice on necessary forms and documentation for employees to ensure proper local taxation and assist in the completion and submission of necessary tax forms. Furthermore, the consultant will review compliance for local income withholding, state unemployment, and state income tax, and advise on reciprocal agreements for remote employees, ensuring tax obligations are met and appropriate tax withholding is facilitated.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Payroll Systems Consulting
  • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP - Payroll systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of Department SOP's
  • Demonstrated experience in Audit, Audit - Information Systems, and Audit - Operational
  • Knowledge of Payroll Tax Reporting and Payroll Taxes
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is required
  • Familiarity with Certified Payroll systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field would be advantageous.
