About the position

The Payroll Systems Specialist is responsible for ensuring the integrity of payroll data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, and allocations. This role involves collaboration with Payroll, IT, and HR departments, troubleshooting user requests, performing system maintenance, and supporting payroll implementations. A high level of confidentiality and accuracy is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Payroll, IT, and HR departments to ensure integrity of payroll data.
  • Troubleshoot user requests or issues, resolving system and data problems.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, maintain error logs, and resolve data and interface errors.
  • Test system changes, load data, and save transactions into the HRMS system.
  • Develop and/or maintain training materials for the Timekeeping system.
  • Maintain and audit data in HR and Payroll databases.
  • Ensure proper configuration of all systems supported by HRMS to meet business needs.
  • Create and maintain system documentation and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support Payroll in implementations and roll-out activities related to the HRMS system.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with databases and custom report writing required.
  • Understanding of HR and payroll database design, structure, function, and processes, and experience with database tools strongly preferred.
  • Excellent research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle confidential data professionally.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office with two years of advanced experience using MS Excel and/or MS Access.
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance.
