About the position

The Payroll Timekeeping Clerk at Steve's and Sons Inc. is responsible for processing timekeeping for the entire organization, ensuring accurate attendance records and compliance with policies. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach, contributing to a positive work environment in a family-owned company with over 155 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures profiles and timesheets reflect the correct department.
• Tracks absenteeism and tardiness to support compliance with attendance policy and disciplinary actions.
• Sends out daily absent reports, including Saturdays.
• Inputs all call-ins into UKG daily.
• Follows up with managers and inputs missing punches from the previous day.
• Ensures schedules are correct and employees adhere to schedules for over 500 employees.
• Adjusts schedules based on manager approvals when employees work outside of scheduled hours.
• Tracks daily attendance towards perfect attendance bonuses.
• Tracks time off requests and notes in UKG.
• Ensures all FMLA, Workers' comp, etc. are kept updated on timesheets.
• Reviews preliminary reports for timesheets during payroll processing for accuracy.

Requirements

• 1 year previous experience preferred
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must be organized
• Knowledge in timekeeping and payroll
• Excellent active listening skills
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Knowledge of employment laws and payroll laws
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
