About the position

The Payroll Timekeeping Specialist is a key member of the Trinity Health Payroll Shared Services team, responsible for supporting and executing daily payroll activities for assigned ministries or service lines. This role involves ensuring accuracy in payroll processing, timekeeping, and employee information management while adhering to federal and state regulations and Trinity Health policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day payroll activities for assigned ministries or service lines.
  • Ensure accuracy in employee payroll processing and timekeeping.
  • Complete payroll tax reports and perform audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing.
  • Run timekeeping and payroll reports for pay period audits.
  • Act as backup to Payroll Coordinator for balancing timekeeping files and preparing EIBs.
  • Process employee expense reimbursement forms and maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
  • Assist with special projects related to system enhancements and quality improvements.
  • Monitor payroll team email inbox for employee inquiries and respond accordingly.
  • Process employee time correction forms and historical edits in the timekeeping system.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in accounting or human resources, or 1-3 years of equivalent payroll experience.
  • Experience in a multi-entity and multi-state organization handling payroll processes and compliance.
  • Familiarity with internal controls related to payroll functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize, analyze, and evaluate data.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet established deadlines and follow through on tasks.
  • Strong personal computer skills, particularly in Excel; experience with Workday, Kronos/Dimensions, and ADP tax services preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles.
  • High degree of professionalism and customer focus, maintaining confidentiality.
