About the position

The PBIS Facilitator position at Polk County Public Schools is designed to support the development and implementation of a multi-tiered system of behavioral support across schools. This role focuses on enhancing classroom management strategies, improving student behavior, and delivering professional development to teachers. The facilitator will work closely with school leadership and teachers to analyze data, implement research-based strategies, and monitor the effectiveness of behavioral interventions, ultimately aiming to improve student achievement and learning time.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) services at the regional level.
  • Assist schools in implementing school-wide behavioral supports and coaching teachers in classroom management.
  • Support teachers in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and usage.
  • Implement research-based strategies and programs for school improvement.
  • Assist the school-based leadership team in reviewing school-wide data and planning strategies to teach school-wide rules and expectations.
  • Help teachers identify obstacles to effective classroom management and provide alternative management strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments for individual students.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree is required.
  • Master's Degree with advanced content area coursework is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid Florida Professional Certificate and be fully qualified in the designated content area(s).
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience as a highly successful classroom teacher is required.
  • High level of understanding of behavior management strategies and methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis is an advantage but is not required.
