About the position

As the PC Actuarial Analytics Manager at Farm Bureau Financial Services, you will play a pivotal role in managing the P&C Analytics team. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the planning, development, and implementation of advanced analytics across the organization, utilizing advanced actuarial techniques. This position requires a strong data-driven professional who is local to the Des Moines area or willing to relocate, as at least three days in the office are required each week. You will be expected to set clear objectives for your team and ensure that each member aligns with the team's vision. Effective leadership is crucial, as you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and documenting advanced analytics initiatives throughout the organization. You will also need to interpret results for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge and collaborate with management to deliver impactful results. Responsibilities

  • Set clear objectives for the P&C Analytics team and ensure alignment with the team's vision.
  • Lead the team in developing, implementing, and documenting advanced analytics throughout the organization.
  • Interpret analytical results for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with management to deliver actionable insights and results.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation.
  • 7 years of relevant work experience in actuarial analytics or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Emblem, or other predictive modeling software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
