About the position

The Technical Support Specialist role within the Technology Services and Operations team focuses on providing high-quality support for endpoint systems and technology. This position involves assisting customers with computer issues, both onsite and remotely, while ensuring a superior customer experience. The role includes imaging and deploying systems, documenting service requests, and maintaining asset tracking systems. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct installation, diagnostic, and problem resolution for all personal computer (PC) hardware and software.
  • Assist team members with testing, validation, and deployment of operating system and application upgrades.
  • Perform workstation provisioning tasks, including installation and configuration of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Guide others in the processes for workstation provisioning and deployment.
  • Support and troubleshoot desktop and laptop workstations, including hardware and software issues.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for End User Support processes and procedures.
  • Utilize tools for administration of Microsoft Windows workstations, including remote access and application installations.
  • Implement and troubleshoot workstation file and folder permissions.
  • Provide guidance on Active Directory configurations for end-user workstations.
  • Support mobile devices and maintain workstation equipment inventory.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support or related field.
  • Vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience is desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Client Operating systems, particularly Win10, in an operational support role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications in a mid to large organization.
  • Familiarity with Cisco AnyConnect and security products on macOS and Windows.
  • Experience in creating support documentation and training manuals.
  • Proficient in Active Directory and related services such as DNS and DHCP.
  • Deep understanding of macOS and iOS platforms, particularly Catalina and BigSur.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting iOS and Android mobile devices in regulated environments.
  • Willingness to learn custom reporting in JAMF, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and SCCM.
