About the position

The PCA/Float Pool position at Lakeland Regional Health involves delivering patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality of care while interacting effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Perform activities of daily living as delegated by the RN.
  • Provide for patient safety, quality, privacy, and comfort through intentional rounding.
  • Communicate any changes in patient condition or behavior to the RN immediately.
  • Document and communicate vital signs, intake and output, and weights accurately and timely.
  • Assist with tasks to support patient care as needed.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaged environment through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Participate actively in process improvement and adoption of standard work.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an approved PCA program is essential.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Knowledge of providing activities of daily living and obtaining vital signs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified by the state of Florida as PCA.
  • Acute care experience preferred.
