About the position

As a PCA/HHA at The Shire Senior Living, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate personal care and support to clients in both home and community settings. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, along with essential skills in long-term care and caregiving. Your expertise in first aid, assisted living, and experience with individuals with developmental disabilities will significantly enhance the quality of care provided. You will also be responsible for meal preparation and behavior management, contributing to a supportive environment for clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Support clients in maintaining their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Document and report any changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving to appointments or social activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of paid work experience as PCA/HHA
• Completion of a NYS Department of Health approved Personal Care Aide (PCA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) training program with certification
• Reliable transportation
• Proof of vaccination
• Ability to pass all background checks including criminal and medical.
