About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at Senior Citizens Village is a vital role focused on providing compassionate and respectful care to senior residents during the 2nd shift, which runs from 2 PM to 10 PM. This position is ideal for individuals who are reliable and caring, as they will be responsible for assisting residents with their daily personal care needs. Under new management, the facility is looking to build a strong team of PCAs who are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly. The role involves a variety of tasks including personal care such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting residents to the dining room. Additionally, PCAs will help with admitting new residents, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable in their new environment. In addition to personal care, the PCA will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized living space for residents. This includes changing bed linens, keeping grooming supplies stocked, and ensuring that resident rooms are tidy and free of clutter. The PCA will also be expected to monitor residents' hydration by supplying fresh water and encouraging fluid intake, as well as making rounds every two hours to attend to residents' needs. Observing and reporting any changes in residents' conditions to the supervisor is a critical part of the job, ensuring that any health concerns are addressed promptly. Housekeeping duties are also a significant aspect of the PCA role, requiring adherence to established standards of cleanliness and infection control. This includes using proper techniques to maintain hygiene and safety for both residents and staff. The PCA will be responsible for charting daily activities and care provided to residents, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a current Nursing Assistant certification from North Carolina and have completed the required competency evaluation. They should be flexible, approachable, and able to work independently while also being a team player.
