About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role involves providing essential personal care services to adults with developmental disabilities or elderly individuals in their homes. The position requires reliable transportation and adherence to health protocols regarding vaccination. The job is available for both full-time and part-time schedules, with varying hours based on family needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide community support and inclusion activities
• Assist with personal care tasks including ADLs, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Administer medication assistance and accompany clients to doctor appointments or errands
• Prepare light meals and perform light housekeeping tasks
• Teach and promote independent living skills, coping skills, and anger management

Requirements

• Must have direct paid experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or the elderly
• Reliable transportation is required
• Ability to provide proof of vaccination or wear a mask at all times if unvaccinated
• Good communication skills and ability to write daily progress notes
• CPR/First Aid certification (can be trained or qualified)
• Pass a background check and drug screen
