About the position

We are seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team at Morrison Home Health Care Agency in Portsmouth, VA. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various medical settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is crucial in assisting patients with daily tasks and providing emotional support, which significantly impacts their recovery and overall experience in healthcare facilities. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting patients with daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. You will also provide emotional support and companionship to patients, helping them feel more comfortable and secure during their time in care. Additionally, you will assist patients with mobility and physical therapy exercises, monitor and record patient vital signs, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the best care for patients. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of those they care for. The role is part-time, with expected hours of around 40 hours per week, and offers a pay range of $13.50 to $16.00 per hour. The schedule may include day and evening shifts, providing flexibility for the right candidate. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Ability to work in diverse medical environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, Teaching Hospitals, PICU, Emergency Medicine, Inpatient, Outpatient, Hospital Medicine, and Medical-Surgical units
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus
