About the position

Home Care Advantage, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide in-home care for an elderly man in Newtown, Connecticut. This role is essential in delivering high-quality non-medical home care, ensuring that clients receive the support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life. The position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, with shifts available during the day from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and overnight from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am, including every other Friday. As a PCA, you will work one-on-one with the same client, following a consistent schedule each week, which fosters a strong caregiver-client relationship. Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance to clients in their homes
  • Ensure safety and supervision of clients
  • Offer companionship and emotional support
  • Prepare meals according to dietary needs
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed
  • Follow comprehensive care plans developed by care managers
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Transport clients as necessary using a reliable vehicle

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional caregiving experience
  • Experience in long-term care and home & community care settings
  • Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer's care
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Pass a criminal background check
