About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will enhance the quality of life for individuals by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This position is vital in environments such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Support patients with mobility needs, including transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs.
• Monitor and record vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
• Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient living areas.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Experience or familiarity with various medical environments.
• Background in hospital medicine or medical-surgical settings is preferred.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or emergency medicine is beneficial.
• Familiarity with operating rooms (OR) and geriatrics care is a plus.
• Knowledge of pediatric intensive care units (PICU) is advantageous.
• Experience in teaching hospitals or inpatient care settings is beneficial.
