About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role at FirstLight Home Care involves providing compassionate care to seniors, assisting them with personal care tasks, household chores, and offering companionship. This position is available in part-time, full-time, or PRN capacities, and is essential for helping seniors maintain their independence and quality of life at home.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as mobility, dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
• Help with household tasks including light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Run errands and assist clients with grocery shopping.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Promote the health and wellbeing of clients by ensuring their needs are met.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working as a caregiver, either personally or professionally.
• Valid Driver's License and Automobile Insurance.
• Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
• Experience with clients who have Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or other memory care needs.
• Familiarity with PPE and equipment such as Gait Belts, Trapeze, and Hoyer lifts.
