About the position

Pacifica Senior Living Peoria is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to provide essential care and support to residents in a senior living environment. The role focuses on implementing daily living activities, ensuring resident safety, and promoting independence while adhering to professional standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Read and implement care/activities of daily living (ADLs) according to the resident service plan.
• Respond to resident needs, pendant calls, and other community alarms in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate empathy and develop caring rapport with residents.
• Promote resident independence and self-care.
• Deliver care and services in accordance with individual service plans for all assigned residents.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of care delivered.
• Conduct visual safety checks on all assigned residents at the start of each shift.
• Effectively communicate resident status with the next shift at the end of each shift.
• Communicate changes in resident conditions to nursing in a timely manner.
• Complete incident reports accurately and timely.
• Understand and demonstrate safety and infection control policies.
• Promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
• Assist housekeeping and maintenance staff to keep the community and resident property clean.
• Recognize, respond to, and report concerns in the resident's environment.
• Demonstrate behavior that maintains and respects resident rights and promotes independence.
• Address individual behavioral needs of the resident.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Must possess valid First Aid Certifications and CPR certification as per state regulations.
• Certified Nursing Assistant Certification and state certifications may be required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at the level necessary for performing duties.
