About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and assistance with daily living activities, contributing to their overall well-being and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
• Help with mobility and transportation needs within the facility, including assisting patients in and out of beds or chairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, Emergency medicine, PICU, and teaching hospitals to deliver comprehensive care.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while providing care.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or medical-surgical units is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or inpatient care.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not required.
• A commitment to providing high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.
