The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at Central Bucks School District involves providing one-on-one support to students with autism across various school settings. The role is essential in assisting students with daily academic and social activities, ensuring their needs are met during school hours. This position is available for the 2024/2025 school year and offers both full-time and part-time options, with a pay rate of $18.43 per hour, plus additional compensation for specific care tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with a student with autism in the classroom, specials, lunch, and recess.
• Assist the student with daily activities, both academic and social.
• Utilize crisis prevention techniques and strategies, including possible restraint as a last resort, as required by the student's IEP.
• Communicate effectively with both students and adults.
• Exercise good judgment and prioritize tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required at the time of hire.
• Experience in providing personal care services is preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and be a positive role model for students.

Nice-to-haves

• Valid CPR Certification
• Experience in taking vital signs
