About the position

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is designed for individuals who are dedicated to providing essential care and support to patients in various healthcare settings. This position involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health status, and offering emotional support to patients, ensuring their well-being and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Assist patients with mobility and transportation within the facility.
• Monitor and report changes in patients' health status to the healthcare team.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients.
• Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Experience or knowledge in emergency medicine, geriatrics, or hospital medicine is advantageous.
• Familiarity with inpatient care procedures and medical terminology is beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment such as a Level I Trauma Center or PICU.
• Strong communication skills and empathy when interacting with patients.
• Certification or training in medical-surgical care is a plus.

Benefits

• Per diem pay ranging from $17.20 to $17.57 per hour.
