About the position

We are seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
• Help with meal preparation and feeding
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Escort patients to medical appointments and outings
• Follow care plans and report any changes in the patient's condition to the healthcare team

Requirements

• Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a Level II Trauma Center or teaching hospital
• Knowledge of outpatient and inpatient care practices
• Familiarity with emergency medicine, operating room (OR) procedures, hospital medicine, PICU, and geriatrics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a Personal Care Assistant training program
