About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting with daily activities and medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
• Help with mobility assistance and transfers as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
• Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to patient care.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to various settings such as emergency medicine and geriatrics is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, PICUs, geriatrics, clinics, outpatient facilities, medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, teaching hospitals, and operating rooms.
