About the position
The position involves working in a dynamic and growing company that specializes in PCBA design and prototyping, particularly focusing on power delivery systems. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the successful design and manufacturing of high-quality products using advanced technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both analog and digital IC design, as well as experience in testing and quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype PCBA with a focus on power delivery, including I/O and USB power.
- Select components and size PCBs to fit within limited spaces.
- Coordinate with board houses for high-volume PCBA manufacturing.
- Conduct solid testing and quality assurance, including documentation and traceability.
- Utilize testing tools such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters for component troubleshooting.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams during the board design process.
- Suggest and advise changes to PCB and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate information flow between senior management, sales, marketing, and customers.
Requirements
- Experience in PCBA design and prototyping with a focus on power delivery.
- Knowledge of analog and digital IC design.
- Experience with PCB sizing and component selection.
- Solid testing and QA experience, including EMI and EMC testing.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer and AutoCAD.
- Embedded coding experience, ideally in C on a Linux platform.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, and some exposure to MS Excel.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in military, avionics, or regulated industry board design and testing.
- Specialty experience in designing power-focused boards.
- Familiarity with I2S protocols for audio transmission.
- Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
- Knowledge of the full electronics component manufacturing life-cycle.
