About the position

The position involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on PCBA design and prototyping, particularly in power delivery systems. The role requires ongoing communication with various teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality product development and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype PCBA with a focus on power delivery, including I/O and USB power.
  • Select components and size PCBs to fit within limited spaces, ensuring compatibility with resistors, capacitors, and other components.
  • Coordinate with board houses for high-volume PCBA manufacturing, maintaining communication throughout the process.
  • Conduct solid testing and quality assurance, including documentation and traceability, test planning, debugging, and troubleshooting components.
  • Utilize testing tools such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators for PCB testing.
  • Engage in EMI and EMC testing and documentation as part of the design process.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, software engineering, and external clients during the board design process.
  • Use Altium Designer for PCB design and have some embedded coding experience, ideally in C on a Linux platform.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics, with AutoCAD experience required.
  • Advise on changes and updates to PCB and manufacturing processes, coordinating with senior management, sales, and technicians.
  • Clarify production plans, delivery performance, and project status with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in PCBA design and prototyping, particularly in power delivery systems.
  • Proficiency in both analog and digital IC design.
  • Experience with PCB sizing and component selection for limited space applications.
  • Solid testing and quality assurance experience, including documentation and traceability.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
  • Experience with EMI and EMC testing and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with various teams and departments.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, and some exposure to MS Excel.
  • Experience with Altium Designer and embedded coding, ideally in C on a Linux platform.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in military, avionics, or similar regulated industries.
  • Specialty experience in designing power-focused boards or power supplies.
  • Familiarity with I2S protocols and audio transmission components.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
  • Knowledge of the full electronics component manufacturing life-cycle.
