About the position

The PDP Copywriter at SGK will play a crucial role in developing compelling and brand-relevant product storytelling that resonates across various online retail platforms. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a passion for content writing, as the individual will be responsible for crafting thoughtful, search-engine-optimized copy that transforms prospective e-commerce shoppers into engaged, brand-loyal customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of grammar and spelling, along with the ability to proofread and self-edit their work effectively. The work of a PDP Copywriter is integral to guiding consumers through their purchasing journey on platforms like Amazon and Walmart.com, ensuring that the product descriptions not only inform but also entice and engage the audience. In this role, the Copywriter will be tasked with writing high-quality, SEO-optimized product copy tailored for consumers shopping on various online retail platforms. This includes conducting keyword research to optimize product titles, bullet points, key features, product descriptions, and back-end metadata with relevant, highly ranked keywords. The Copywriter will also create engaging headlines and body copy that capture the target audience's attention while adhering to brand, regulatory, and retailer requirements. The ability to adapt tone and word choice to suit different platforms and audiences is essential, as is the capacity to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Overall, this position is designed for a self-motivated individual who can work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, managing time effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality in their writing.

Responsibilities

  • Writes high-quality, SEO-optimized product copy for consumers shopping at various online retail platforms
  • Conducts keyword research and optimizes product titles, bullet points or key features, product descriptions, and back-end metadata with relevant, highly ranked keywords
  • Writes creative and descriptive copy for image tiles, below-the-fold enhanced content, retailer brand stores, sponsored ads, and additional digital content
  • Creates compelling headlines and engaging body copy that capture the target audience's attention while staying true to brand, regulatory, and retailer requirements
  • Adapts tone of voice and word choice to appropriately tailor the message for variances in platforms and audiences
  • Juggles multiple projects at once, managing time and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
  • 4+ years of previous Communications, Journalism experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
