About the position

The PE & Art Elementary Teacher position at Nolan Creek School in Belton, Texas, is a full-time role responsible for providing students in grades K-6 with engaging and rigorous learning experiences in physical education and art. The teacher will collaborate with staff to set instructional goals, utilize various teaching strategies, and assess student progress to foster a conducive learning environment. This role emphasizes the importance of communication, technology integration, and adherence to educational policies while promoting student development and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with campus and district staff to determine instructional goals and objectives.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials that reflect understanding of students' learning styles.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Incorporate technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
  • Help students analyze and improve their study methods and habits.
  • Prepare and provide instruction based on accommodations outlined in students' IEPs.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' development.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students and materials.
  • Report and communicate student progress to parents.
  • Resolve parent/student issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Be a positive role model for students and manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Assist in monitoring students and creating a safe campus environment.
  • Attend campus events and extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Assist in the selection of instructional materials and equipment.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and relevant ARD meetings.
  • Compile, maintain, and submit required reports and records.
  • Analyze critical needs in assigned areas and collaborate to improve programs.
  • Promote and contribute to campus-wide initiatives, including AVID.
  • Protect confidentiality of students and their families.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Support the mission and vision of the campus and district.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by the campus and district.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Generalist or Core Subjects ART EC-4 or EC-6 including ESL certification.
  • Successful completion of student teaching or applicable field/volunteer work.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and technology integration in instruction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching physical education and art at the elementary level.
  • Ability to design and implement innovative learning experiences for students.
