About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at the University of Oklahoma is primarily responsible for providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. This role involves managing requisitions and applicants, supporting hiring processes, and enhancing the university's recruiting efforts. The position is temporary, estimated to last four months, and requires strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provides requisition and applicant management and customer service support to applicants and departmental users.
  • Posts requisitions, including proofreading, cross-checking information, and creating prescreening questions.
  • Manages job listings and candidate referrals for student and staff positions.
  • Determines if candidates meet minimum qualifications.
  • Communicates with hiring departments, applicants, and completes hires.
  • Works with departments to move qualified applicants through the hiring process.
  • Assists recruiting assistants and hiring managers in improving job listings and following up with expired listings.
  • Helps departmental users with questions and troubleshoots technical issues.
  • Conducts background and driver's license checks, processing requests and communicating with hiring departments and applicants.
  • Provides support to hiring programs such as PEAK, Work Study, Learn & Earn Student Jobs, and the Student Job Location Program.
  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives and meeting with managers to discuss needs.
  • Identifies recruiting opportunities by researching new sources for talent and networking with industry professionals and college placement officers.
  • Establishes and grows the online recruiting presence.
  • Participates in special projects and performs various duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6 months of customer service or related experience (or 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 60 months related experience).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse customer base, including students, hiring managers, and the general public.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure and is resourceful.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using the Taleo applicant tracking system.
  • Human Resources Recruiting SHRM certification.
