About the position

The Hawaii Department of Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher for grades 9-12 at Pearl City High School. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students in the arts and communication fields. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with state standards and meets the diverse needs of students. The CTE Teacher will engage students in hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, preparing them for future careers in the arts and communication sectors. In addition to classroom instruction, the CTE Teacher will collaborate with other educators, administrators, and community partners to enhance the educational experience for students. This role requires a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) licensing requirements. The teacher will also be expected to participate in school events, contribute to a positive school culture, and support students' academic and personal growth. Candidates must possess a valid Hawaii teaching license or an Emergency Hire Permit upon hire. If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, candidates will have a maximum of three years to obtain a valid license. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.
  • Commitment to obtaining a valid Hawaii teaching license within three years if hired without one.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement engaging curriculum for high school students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
