About the position

The Ped Cardiac Sonographer position at Oklahoma Children's Hospital is an entry-level role focused on delivering specialized cardiovascular and radiologic technology services to pediatric patients. Under supervision, the sonographer will assist in diagnosing and treating various conditions by utilizing advanced imaging techniques and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team. The role emphasizes patient-centric care in diverse settings, including inpatient facilities and outpatient clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions.
• Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes.
• Utilize specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure all required elements are completed and documented.
• Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
• Perform quality control checks and maintenance on equipment as per regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher from a CAAHEP accredited educational program in cardiovascular or radiologic technology.
• Current BLS certification upon hire.
• Eligibility for RDCS Adult Echo (AE) certification to be achieved within 12 months of hire.
