We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Certified Surgical Technologist in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This full-time position operates during the night shift, from 9 PM to 7 AM, Tuesday through Friday, or from 7 PM to 7 AM, Wednesday through Friday. The role involves providing proficient perioperative patient care through the use of specialized equipment and instrumentation. As a scrub assistant to the physician, you will be integral in performing operative and/or invasive procedures, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will utilize your knowledge and expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff members, ensuring that our commitment to high-quality care is upheld in every interaction. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular experience, either in adult or pediatric care. You will be required to hold a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and be certified as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). This position is located at Children's Memorial Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, where you will be part of a team that is committed to advancing health and personalizing care through compassion, courage, credibility, and a commitment to community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Function as a scrub assistant to the physician during operative and/or invasive procedures.
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

  • Integrate the Partners-in-Caring process in all internal and external customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular experience (Adult or Pediatric).
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process.
