About the position

The PED Operations Manager at SMX is responsible for leading a team of senior analysts in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions in Africa. This role involves advising and assisting various commands with intelligence training and operational support, ensuring that intelligence readiness aligns with mission requirements. The position requires a DoD TS/SCI clearance and involves significant travel to meet operational needs and gather intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 18-20 senior level analysts supporting SOF missions in Africa.
  • Advise and assist Theater Special Operation Command (TSOC) and Special Operations Command-Forward (SOC-FWD) with intelligence training development.
  • Coordinate with supported organizations and leadership to plan and execute PED support.
  • Deploy in a 90/90 rotation cycle supporting the AFRICOM ARIES contract.
  • Lead 4-10 man PED teams in support of AFRICOM C4ISR operations.
  • Travel to Stuttgart and various forward locations to gather operational information.
  • Provide research and development on emerging capabilities to support mission requirements.
  • Analyze US and partner efforts to counter regional and transregional threat networks.
  • Interface and communicate effectively with intelligence and operations partner elements.
  • Provide fusion of new intel disciplines into assessments to enhance intelligence products.

Requirements

  • DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing analytical support to SOF units or commands.
  • Demonstrated deployed experience in forward locations supporting SOF.
  • Prior deployment experience to Africa providing intelligence support to SOF.
  • Experience in SOF targeting operations in the AFRICOM AOR.
  • Expert understanding of intelligence tools such as M3, Lucky, HOT-R, and others.
  • Expert understanding of geospatial tools such as ArcGIS and Google Earth.
  • Ability to draft presentations and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Ability to coordinate with analysts from various intelligence agencies.
  • Experience in researching and presenting all-source intelligence products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with C5ISR environments.
  • Familiarity with foreign disclosure processes and intelligence sharing agreements.
