The role requires participation in performance improvement activities and professional growth through continuing education. Supervision of physical therapy assistants and students may also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician referrals and completes evaluations in musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary areas.
  • Establishes and implements individual treatment plans based on evaluations and functional goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Plans and completes patient discharge, providing home programs and referrals.
  • Communicates and collaborates with stakeholders for optimal patient care.
  • Completes required documentation following department policy and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains productivity standards and adheres to billing and documentation policies.
  • Cleans up after patient treatment and keeps the area orderly.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Pursues professional growth through continuing education and departmental in-services.
  • May supervise physical therapy assistants and students.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
  • Physical Therapy License in the State of Illinois or Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of age-specific care requirements.
