About the position

The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Nurse will provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients across various settings within the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). This role demands flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to different environments and patient populations, ensuring high-quality care for vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and monitoring pediatric patients in critical condition
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Performing procedures such as intubation, mechanical ventilation, and invasive monitoring
• Providing emotional support and education to patients and families
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
• Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric critical care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
