About the position

The Pediatric Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician will work within a primary care private practice to deliver integrated behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families. This role involves providing evidence-based interventions, conducting consultations, and collaborating with primary care providers to support the mental health needs of patients. The clinician will focus on various behavioral health issues, including anxiety, depression, and family disruptions, while actively participating in team meetings and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective, evidence-based interventions to help children, adolescents, young adults, and families achieve targeted behavioral goals in 1:1, group, and consult formats.
  • Complete real-time, initial consultations, emergency screenings, and scheduled follow-up care as needed.
  • Provide mental and behavioral health education and support to patients and their families.
  • Identify and support post-partum depression and anxiety in new parents.
  • Collaborate with community resources including transition planning from in-patient and day programs, coordinating mental health and behavioral health needs with medical and school contacts.
  • Provide consultative support to primary care providers and clinical staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in the practice's electronic health record.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and professional development that supports the practice's integrated health care model.
  • Assist in identifying patients at risk of developing health problems and provide preventive interventions to address the needs of these populations.
  • Help evolve the practice's integration efforts by identifying problems and making recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • A Doctoral or Master's Degree in a mental health field from an accredited graduate program.
  • A license for independent practice in Massachusetts (Licensed Psychologist, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Experience with behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, and brief, solution-focused interventions.

  • Experience in pediatric primary care or other pediatric medical settings.
  • Proven record of collaborative service delivery.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented medical practice.
