About the position
The Pediatric Advanced Interventional Endoscopist position at Texas Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas, offers a unique opportunity to lead and advance the field of pediatric interventional endoscopy. As the only specialist in Austin, the candidate will perform complex interventional endoscopic procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve pediatric gastrointestinal health outcomes. This role is pivotal in establishing and growing a new medical facility aimed at serving the expanding population of Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of advanced interventional endoscopic procedures in pediatric patients, including ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD, and more.
- Collaborate closely with pediatric gastroenterologists, surgeons, interventional radiologists, and anesthesiologists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Practice autonomously while receiving support from other physicians within the division.
- Lead and develop innovative programming for the new medical facility.
- Participate in the growth and expansion of pediatric interventional endoscopy services.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Clinical Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
- Completion of advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Interventional Endoscopy or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in performing complex interventional endoscopic procedures in pediatric patients.
- Eligibility to obtain or already hold an active Texas medical license.
