About the position
Pediatrix Neonatology of Houston, an affiliate of Pediatrix Medical Group, is seeking experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) with Acute Care Certification to join our dedicated team in the newborn nursery at Memorial Hermann Southwest. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of two pediatricians and two PNPs, providing high-quality care to newborns in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will have a flexible work schedule, averaging 15-16 shifts per month, typically from 7-8 AM to 4-5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. With an average daily census of 25-35 patients, the PNP will be responsible for performing physical exams on all newborns, rounding with the attending pediatrician, and completing necessary documentation and billing. Additionally, there is an opportunity to learn circumcisions through on-the-job training, enhancing the skill set of the PNP. Houston, known as the nation's fourth-largest city, offers a vibrant metropolitan lifestyle with a plethora of entertainment and recreational options. From professional sports teams to a rich theater and museum district, the city caters to diverse interests. The Galleria, Texas's largest mall, provides a shopping paradise, while Houston's sunny climate allows for enjoyment of municipal parks, jogging paths, and bike trails. Responsibilities
- Join a team of 2 pediatricians and 2 PNPs in the newborn nursery.
- Work alongside a pediatrician exclusively in the newborn nursery.
- Perform physical exams on all newborns.
- Round with the attending pediatrician.
- Complete documentation and billing for patient care.
- Learn circumcisions with on-the-job training.
Requirements
- Current APRN national specialty certification.
- Minimum of a master's degree.
