About the position

The Clinical Research Assistant plays a vital role in supporting clinical research by performing various research, data, and clerical duties under the guidance of a senior research team member. This position involves developing knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and relevant regulations while ensuring adherence to institutional policies and federal regulations. The assistant will be responsible for participant recruitment, documentation, and conducting protocol-specific testing, contributing to the overall success of clinical studies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and manage research projects under the direction of the principal investigator.
  • Adhere to standards for responsible conduct of research and institutional policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of data and ensure compliance with federal regulations regarding human subjects research.
  • Create, complete, maintain, and organize study documents accurately.
  • Account for study materials, including participant lists, visit logs, and regulatory binders.
  • Attend study meetings, which may require overnight travel, as requested by the principal investigator.
  • Engage participants in the informed consent process according to institutional policies.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse subject population.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize unsafe behavior in team members.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and federal regulations related to clinical research.
