About the position

As Lifewell's Peer Benefits Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ascertaining patient benefits by interviewing patients and assisting them with gathering all pertinent information for the benefit application process. This position requires you to initiate, track, and assist patient benefits during and after the application process. Being detail-oriented is an important requirement of the job, as you will monitor the completion of financial patient information, work with outside agencies, and facilitate AHCCCS eligibility checks and monitoring. Additionally, you will train and assist case manager staff in the completion of application forms. Responsibilities

  • Ascertain patient benefits by interviewing patients.
  • Assist patients in gathering all pertinent information for the benefit application process.
  • Initiate, track, and assist patient benefits during and after the application process.
  • Monitor the completion of financial patient information.
  • Work with outside agencies to facilitate AHCCCS eligibility checks and monitoring.
  • Train and assist case manager staff in the completion of application forms.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma/GED and one year of relevant work experience.
  • Shared experience preferred, defined as personally (or a family member) utilizing privately or publicly funded behavioral health services, including substance abuse treatment or having a family perspective of recovery.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Background Check required.
  • Minimum typing speed of 25 wpm.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
