About the position

The Peer Recovery Facilitator at TCV Community Services is a part-time role focused on providing support to adults with serious mental illnesses through community integration and recovery management. The position involves facilitating wellness and recreational activities, assisting consumers in achieving their recovery goals, and offering resources for additional support services. The role emphasizes a strengths-based approach and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the planning of consumer wellness and social/recreational activities and groups within the program.
• Work with the supervisor and team members to coordinate and prioritize activities based on consumer needs.
• Assist consumers in recovery management, including identifying goals related to wellness, barriers to achieving these goals, and strategies to meet these goals.
• Assist consumers with basic life skills such as practicing self-care.
• Be a resource for consumers needing additional support services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• First-person experience with mental health recovery and willingness to disclose is required.
• Valid PA Driver's License is required.
• State Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances required.
• Pre-employment physical, one-step TB, and drug screening required.

Nice-to-haves

• Peer Specialist Certification preferred but not required.
