In this role, you'll leverage your lived experience and specialized training to assist clients on their journey to recovery from mental illness, addiction, and trauma. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about empowering others and making a positive difference in their lives. You will be responsible for providing integrated, recovery-focused services that are client-centered and culturally competent. As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, you will conduct health promotion activities including vitals monitoring, health education, and lifestyle interventions. You will support individuals and families with advocacy, medication adherence, crisis planning, and social skill building. Additionally, you will facilitate peer support groups and promote wellness through programs like WRAP. This role is crucial in helping clients navigate their recovery journey and achieve their personal goals. Your work will not only involve direct client interaction but also collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to recovery. You will be a vital part of a team that is committed to building healthier communities through compassion, expertise, and support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated, recovery-focused services that are client-centered and culturally competent.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; certification as an ODMHSAS Peer Recovery Support Specialist and Wellness Coach required (or obtainable within 60 days of hire).
  • Experience or knowledge in mental health recovery and wellness; preference for WRAP facilitator certification.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Word and general computer applications.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mental health recovery and wellness programs.
  • Certification as a WRAP facilitator.
