About the position

NorthCare is seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our compassionate team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, combining lived experience with specialized training to make a real difference in the lives of our clients and their families. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide comprehensive, integrated services that are culturally competent and trauma-informed, advocating for clients within our community and NorthCare to ensure they receive the support needed for recovery and independent living. In this position, you will conduct health promotion activities, including vital checks, health education, and lifestyle interventions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support behavior change and treatment goals, maintaining accurate clinical records and meeting productivity expectations outlined by management. This role is essential in helping individuals navigate their recovery journey and achieve their highest level of health and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, integrated services that are culturally competent and trauma-informed.
  • Advocate for clients within our community and NorthCare, ensuring they receive the support needed for recovery and independent living.
  • Conduct health promotion activities, including vital checks, health education, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support behavior change and treatment goals.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and meet productivity expectations outlined by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional higher education preferred.
  • Certification as an ODMHSAS Peer Recovery Support Specialist and Wellness Coach (or obtainable within 60 days of hire).
  • Experience in community mental health or related fields preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and general computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required.
  • Commitment to maintaining CPR, First Aid, and other required certifications.
  • Adherence to dress code and professional conduct standards.
  • Flexibility to work in various community settings and adhere to agency policies.

Nice-to-haves
