Peer Review Analyst RN Part Time Days

About the position

The Peer Review Analyst is responsible for supporting the peer review process at Riverside Regional Medical Center. This role involves reviewing cases entered into the rCare safety event reporting application, conducting electronic medical record reviews, and developing case summaries with focused questions. The analyst will maintain knowledge of the rCare modules, run reports to verify case activity, and ensure timely follow-ups with peer reviewers.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the rCare Peer Review Process and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Review cases referred to peer review and enter them into the rCare Peer Review module, providing case summaries and focused questions for peer reviewers.
• Conduct initial reviews and develop case summaries for further review when necessary.
• Identify and utilize multiple methods for case finding, including triggers, quality screens, and patient complaints.
• Obtain continual education related to the peer review process.
• Follow up with assigned peer reviewers to ensure timely responses and referrals to the appropriate Peer Review committee.
• Maintain an electronic log of peer review cases by medical specialty, including cases identified for potential external peer review.
• Document analysis, conclusions, recommendations, and actions for all peer-reviewed cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• 3-4 years of recent patient care experience in an acute care setting (Required)
• Computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry skills (Required)
• 3-4 years of related experience in quality, patient safety, or risk management (Preferred)
• Knowledge of report building and graphs (Preferred)
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (Required)
