About the position

The Peer Specialist position at Riverside Community Care focuses on providing support and assistance to individuals and families utilizing the Respite program. This role leverages personal experience and knowledge of the care system to create a welcoming and responsive environment, helping consumers navigate recovery and access community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consumers and families with information about recovery, rehabilitation, and crisis self-management.
  • Arrange post-intervention services for consumers.
  • Support consumers during their transition to follow-up care.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for local transportation.
  • High school degree or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
  • Personal knowledge of the effects of psychiatric symptoms.
