Join our team as a Peer Support Specialist! As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, you will provide Recovery Coaching to patients struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. Your role will involve assisting patients in identifying personal and environmental obstacles to recovery, linking them to the recovery community, and serving as a personal guide and mentor in managing their personal and family recovery. It is important to note that a Peer Recovery Support Specialist does not serve the role of a sponsor but instead models competency in resiliency, recovery, and ongoing coping skills. You will work closely with the patients' treatment team and, when necessary, collaborate with the patients' families and the community to support their recovery journey. At Presbyterian, we value our employees' differences and find strength in the diversity of our team and community. It’s not just what we do that matters; it’s how we do it. Our incredible team makes a meaningful impact on the healthcare provided to our patients and members. We are committed to improving the health of our communities, and as a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in this mission. You will be expected to engage with patients compassionately and effectively, ensuring they feel supported and empowered throughout their recovery process.
