The Peer Support Specialist for the Community Mobile Team at Netcare Corporation is responsible for providing essential peer support services to clients who are receiving crisis and follow-up services in the community. This role is integral to the Community Mobile Team, acting as a liaison between clinicians, the community, and clients, while offering a lived-experience perspective that is crucial to Netcare's trauma-informed care approach. The position requires the individual to be available for shifts that include 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM from Thursday to Saturday and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM from Sunday to Wednesday. As a Peer Support Specialist, the individual will be trained and approved by the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS) and will utilize their training in Trauma Informed Care to recognize the impact of trauma on both themselves and the clients they serve. The role involves documenting observations and interactions in electronic health records, assisting in potentially dangerous situations to ensure safety, and providing exceptional customer service to clients and community members. The specialist will also engage clients in their recovery process, supporting their personal recovery goals, and helping them navigate the mental health system. The position does not supervise any other positions but requires the specialist to maintain productivity standards and respond to internal communications in a timely manner. The role also includes training fellow personnel on the unique role of a peer support specialist and representing peers in Trauma Informed Care meetings and other committees as assigned. Overall, this position is vital in fostering a supportive environment for clients and promoting recovery through shared experiences and advocacy.
