About the position
The Peer Support Specialist at Healthcare Commons, Inc. is responsible for providing peer follow-up and recovery support services to individuals accessing psychiatric screening services. This role requires a deep understanding of mental illness and the community resources available to support recovery. The ideal candidate will be a survivor of mental illness with at least one year of recovery experience, contributing to a supportive environment for clients seeking help.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer follow-up and recovery support services to individuals in psychiatric screening services.
- Demonstrate knowledge of mental illness and available community services.
- Support individuals in their recovery journey by sharing personal experiences and insights.
Requirements
- BA/BS in a related mental health field preferred.
- Must be a survivor of mental illness with a minimum of 1 year in recovery.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
Nice-to-haves
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful.
