About the position
The Certified Peer Support Specialist/Group Facilitator role at AQCS involves providing structured activities aimed at promoting socialization, recovery, wellness, and self-advocacy among individuals facing mental health and substance abuse challenges. This position focuses on assisting clients in developing community living skills and fostering independence through peer support in a community setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide structured activities that promote socialization and recovery.
- Assist individuals in developing natural supports and maintaining community living skills.
- Facilitate group sessions for individuals with common issues and needs.
- Encourage self-advocacy among participants.
- Document interactions and progress using BIRP documentation.
Requirements
- Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Experience within the mental health field is necessary.
- BIRP documentation experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience facilitating groups.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
