About the position

The House Manager Recovery Coach at New Life Independent Living is a volunteer role that requires living on-site in a supportive environment for residents. This position focuses on maintaining a secure and comfortable living space while ensuring compliance with house rules and fostering a positive community among residents. The role involves monitoring the living conditions, facilitating communication, and supporting residents in their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client's rooms and common areas for contraband and cleanliness.
• Ensure residents respect and maintain common areas, including the kitchen and bathrooms.
• Enforce house rules, including curfew compliance.
• Observe and report unusual behavior or potential conflicts between residents.
• Monitor the use and functioning of household appliances and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of household supplies.
• Prepare bedrooms for new residents, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
• Review program and house rules with new residents and ensure compliance.
• Welcome and introduce new clients to existing residents.
• Communicate sensitively with a diverse client population.
• Assign household chores to residents.
• Ensure clients use medications as prescribed, conducting medication counts as needed.
• Administer urinalysis when suspecting inappropriate drug use.
• Collect rent payments as needed and coordinate with the Regional Director.
• Conduct weekly house meetings with residents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in sober living preferred.
• Trauma care experience preferred.
• Independent living experience preferred.
• Ability to climb stairs in a two-story house.
